Malacandra is an imaginary soundtrack and the first in a planned series of three albums loosely based on C S Lewis' Space Trilogy, written in the 1930s and 40s. The music is connected to themes and narrative in the first of the novels, Out of the Silent Planet, originally published in 1938.
