about

"Perelandra" is the second full-length installment in the series of three imaginary soundtracks loosely based on C S Lewis' Space Trilogy, written in the 1930s and 40s. The music is connected to themes and narrative in the second novel, Perelandra, which was originally published in 1943.

The "Perelandra" music is warmer, fussier and more humid than the stony, cold and somewhat retro sci-fi music available on the predecessor. That´s both intentional and accidental, since the core sound of this album is pre-dominantly built on improvisations on the Ciat-Lonbarde modular wooden synths. With their organic quirks and unpredictabilities, their characteristics serves the novel´s jubilant, lavish themes of growth and creation very well.

At the same time there are more sinister themes on this album, since "Perelandra" presents one of the author´s most devilish, tragic characters, as well as a very literal struggle with outer and inner evil. This is an album both tumultuous and soothing.
